To strengthen cross-industry innovation cooperation and promote experience sharing, the "Connecting Rivers and Seas with Intelligence, Linking the Future with Cables — Specialized Technical Exchange Meeting on Connectivity Technologies and Standardization of Ship Communication Systems" was successfully convened at the Engineering and Manufacturing Center of Zhejiang Zhaolong Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd. on June 13th.
This technical exchange meeting was led by Director Liu Zhen of the Ship Professional Committee of Shanghai Standardization Association (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Ship Committee"). The Shanghai Ship Committee organized more than 10 representatives from the Secretariat of Sub-Technical Committee SC1 (TC531/SC1) under the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Marine Electrical and Electronic Equipment, as well as group member units (e.g., the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute, Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd. (a shipbuilding subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd.), and Shanghai National Center of Testing and Inspection for Electric Cable and Wire Co., Ltd.) to attend the manufacturing base of Zhejiang Zhaolong Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd.
Mr. Yao Jinlong, Chairman of Zhaolong Interconnect (SZ.300913), together with more than 20 representatives including Deputy General Manager Yao Yuntao, R&D Technical Director Ni Donghua, He Fang (Chief Expert of Cable Connection System and Director of the Laboratory), Deputy General Manager of the Industrial & Medical Business Division Chen Zhen, and Operation Manager of the Industrial Cable Project Team Yao Yunxiang, warmly received the expert group on behalf of the company.
The expert group visited Zhaolong Interconnect's exhibition hall, laboratory, and production workshops for industrial and marine data cables.
Yao Jinlong, Chairman of Zhaolong Interconnect, delivered a speech
Ni Donghua, R&D Technical Director, chaired the event
Hu Rui, Senior Product Manager of Zhaolong Interconnect, introduced Zhaolong’s marine data cables
Yu Zhenfei from Shanghai Cable Testing Co., Ltd. presented his report
Experts including Director Liu Zhen from the 704th Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, Deputy Director Geng Haiping from Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., Deputy Director Wang Yun from Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd., and Expert Yu Zhenfei from Shanghai Cable Testing Co., Ltd. respectively put forward valuable suggestions on the development of Zhaolong Interconnect's marine data cable business regarding topics such as research on marine cable testing technology, application scenarios of marine data cables, application and development trends of marine Ethernet, as well as the investment direction and technical development trends of the national shipbuilding industry. Based on these topics, both sides further conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on aspects such as factory technology upgrading, environmental protection policies, energy conservation and emission reduction, intelligent factory construction, and marine cable standards.
Currently, Zhaolong Interconnect has successfully obtained certifications from DNV (Norwegian Classification Society), ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), and CCS (China Classification Society). Its marine data cables are widely used in projects such as passenger roll-on/roll-off (ro-pax) ships, container ships, and polar vessels, providing safe and stable data transmission for ocean-going voyages.
As early as July 2022, Zhaolong Marine Cables supplied ABS-certified 10G Category 6A and 7 data cables for the Moby Fantasy, the world’s largest ro-pax ship built by Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI). These cables meet requirements for high/low temperature resistance, moisture resistance, and flame retardancy, helping the ship’s trial navigation project pass on its first attempt and ensuring stable operation across all onboard areas.
Looking to the future, Zhaolong Interconnect will take this technical exchange meeting as an opportunity to integrate the standardized suggestions proposed by experts and the technical requirements of ship communication. Collaborating with the Shanghai Ship Committee (SSC) and industry partners, the company will deepen the R&D and application of marine data transmission technology. Focusing on standardization construction and product innovation, Zhaolong Interconnect aims to support the communication needs of ocean-going shipping with high-reliability cable solutions, continuously promoting the technological upgrading of marine cables, and providing tangible support for the standardized development and performance improvement of ship communication systems.
